Six years of training: 8 months per year, 6 days per week, 3-4 hours per day with Olympic sprinters and an additional 14 years to test, research, write and revise the material led to the current version of “The Athletic Fundamentals of Golf.”
Constant testing of the 8 Athletic Movement Principles (8AMPs) with golfers and athletes from a wide variety of sports has proven that the 8 AMP model can improve movement and technique in many sports; from golf to surfing to baseball and skiing. Additionally the ability to think critically, using the 8 AMPs as a finite set of parameters for solving movement based technical issues has been mastered by kids and adults alike.
A 3-D biomechanics analysis program built to measure the 8 AMPs has provided insights into the esoteric details of golf skill. Its development has allowed us to quantify the 8 AMPs in a lab setting. The IP generated has enabled our students to skillfully apply the principles with a depth and breath of applications that carry over to more than just their core sport.
